Yu Zhang is an accomplished fintech professional. Notable for pioneering the first automatically approved online loan, she scaled up transformative projects valued at billions. She established a fintech Big Data Center, leading innovative research in quantum communication application in supply chain finance. Holder of four software copyrights in data mining algorithms and a contributor to leading industry publications, her expertise adds immense value to the digital financial landscape.
Yu's academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Renmin University of China, a Master’s degree in Finance from Peking University, and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
Sam Cheng has extensive technological background from his stint as a Microdevice Engineer at NASA JPL to foster innovation in the fintech space. During his time at JPL, he contributed to Mars missions, honing his problem-solving skills. Sam now uses these skills to create advanced data-driven models to deliver personalized financial services and business intelligence.
Sam holds dual BS degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, an MS in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
Jay brings over 15 years of experience in financial services and FinTech digital Lending. Prior to Prometheus Data, Jay held leadership and managerial roles in digital banking, consumer lending, small business lending, FinTech strategy and embedded finance at Citi, SoFi, Wells Fargo, and EastWestBank. Outside of work, Jay spends time with his wife and three children in the Bay area.
Yu Wei has over 15 years of data modeling experience. He is a data expert in FICO China and is the head of the Data Modeling Department in a consumer finance company. He built machine learning models using non-financial variables, such as social media data, to predict credit risk on long tail populations.
Dr. Stephen Coggeshall is the retired Chief analytics and science officer at ID Analytics, an identity fraud protection company owned by LifeLock and Symantec, now a division of LexisNexis. He was the founding CTO of ID Analytics where he built the analytics team and helped design the technical solution approach. Prior to ID Analytics Coggeshall worked for 11 years as a researcher in nuclear fusion at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. In addition to ID Analytics, Dr. Coggeshall also cofounded the analytics consulting companies CASA (acquired by HNC Software/FICO) and Los Alamos Computational Group (acquired by Morgan Stanley). His expertise is in forming and managing teams of data scientists to attack complex business problems using advanced algorithms on big data. He has deep expertise in consumer behavior modeling, optimization, forecasting and financial engineering, and spent the past 15 years focusing on identity fraud dynamics.
Dr. Coggeshall holds undergraduate degrees in math, music and physics. He has a master’s in music and a master’s and Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from the University of Illinois. He currently is a Professor at USC, UCLA and UCSD teaching classes on Fraud Analytics, Business Analytics and Consulting.
Kevin D. DeBré is both a business lawyer and an intellectual property lawyer. As a business lawyer, he structures and negotiates technology commercialization deals and IP license agreements. These include strategic alliances, research and development collaborations, trademark licensing and brand merchandising agreements and manufacturing, distribution and marketing arrangements. He has extensive experience in handling technology transfer agreements, having negotiated patent license deals with numerous universities across the country. As an intellectual property lawyer (and a registered patent attorney), Kevin designs and helps clients implement effective strategies for aligning intellectual property protection efforts with a company’s business objectives. And, having been the first call from clients that have experienced a data breach, he helps companies navigate the ever-increasingly complex landscape of data security and privacy laws and regulations. Kevin is the Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology Transactions Practice group and Co-Chair of the Privacy & Data Security practice group.
Kevin holds a BS in Architecture and Engineering from the University of California, Davis and a JD in Law from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings).
